Selecting the way to scan and recover your emails

Second Wizard window displays different possibilities to recover your messages.

• First, Recover Email after a Disk Crash is used when you cannot access your drive at all or when you lost the whole folder with your email databases. In this case, the product will scan the entire drive or partition in either full or fast mode.

• Second, the Repair damaged database mode is used to scan the database files when they are damaged. You can use this when you can access your drive and your email database files, and it is rather faster than the full scan, as only database is scanned instead of the whole drive.

• Third, the Address Book Recovery starts the free Address Book Recovery product developed to recover your lost contacts.

Recover Email after a Disk Crash Mode

Select this mode and the following step will ask you about the drive to scan. Here you can scan either logical or physical drive, depending on the state of your partition. By right-clicking the drive you can also select the Full or Fast Scan.

On the Fast Scan, the product does not check the drive surface for supported file formats to make the messages the highest priority task instead of file attachments. If you are sure that the damage is not severe or if you don't really need the attachments, you can use this mode. In other cases, when you need to recover as much as possible, you should use the Full Scan mode. It will perform the deep scan of the drive to collect all your emails and attachments in the best possible state.

Search for Lost Messages

Now, when you have selected the drive and scan mode, click next and wait until the scan is complete. You can interrupt the scan anytime to browse what has been already recovered.

When the scan is complete, just click Finish to browse the recovered messages.

Lost Message Recovery

After finishing the scan, you will be able to browse the folders with the recovered messages and preview the files. As you can see below, the attachments can be previewed as well. Simply click the Attachments where available to open the preview.
